Postby smilechili on Sat Oct 06, 2007 3:00 am

Triple Olympic gold medallist Marion Jones is going to retire. Yesterday she admitted steroid use before 2000 Olympics. She may face $ 250,000 punishment and five years in jail.

and they are questioning as to weather or not they need to strip her of the medals. How crazy is that? Every athlete that has been found to use steriods at the games has been stripped, w/out question. WHY is there doubt now?

She had spent too much money to defend since she was trapped in the matter and now she has a lot of debt...
It has been so many years...even she is stripped of her medal, it will change the fact that it is not fair for other athletes.

no it's far from fair for the other athletes! they should never have had to compete against some one in a sport where it applies to see the most intensive athletes get a boost from artificial means.

The medals need to be stripped, and she needs to deal w/ the results of the choices she made.

Now that we're finished with Mrs. Jones, Barry bonds, you're next!

Exactly. If we're going to set a precedent for cheating and using performance-enhancing drugs, let's be consistent and punish all cheaters across the board in all professional sports. Marion Jones isn't the only professional athlete and role model cheating--for personal gain, as well as cheating legitimately talented athletes out of rewards and recognition--it's time to search and seize.

And erase them! They knew they were breaking the rules and were cheating honestly trained athletes out of their rightfully earned glory...their records should be expunged from the record books. They never played fair so they never PLAYED AT ALL!
